Home Site for South East Mensa
The South East Region of British Mensa stretches from the New Forest
in the west to the Straights of Dover in the east and from the Isle of Wight to the fringes of London.
This makes it one of the largest Regions of British Mensa and one with a high number of members.
Across the Region members and volunteers are organising a whole raft of activities for other members to participate in.
Everything from Abseiling to Zoology (well, possibly, you get the idea….)
One thing is certain, whatever you want to take part in is either happening or could be happening
somewhere in the Region, quite possibly very near to where you live or work. Surprisingly,
many members don't realise that they are allowed (nay, actively encouraged which is why
I say could be happening) to organise things for themselves. Mensa is essentially a
self-help society, so go on - help yourself. Organise an event in your area.
The Region is constantly seeking help from volunteers.
If you are able and willing to help, either as a contact member, or a LocSec, or
perhaps just arranging a meeting on a regular basis, you will find that the Regional
Meetings coordinator can help you to advertise an event both locally and in the main magazine -
it’s just a matter of getting in touch.
As the Regional Officer I am also willing to help you make Mensa an enjoyable experience for all
its members. So whether it's swimming or sailing, sewing or supping, barbecuing or book-sharing,
it's all there for you to take part in and enjoy. So get involved and enjoy being part of South East Mensa.
We are only as good as the sum of our parts, and you are an essential part of Mensa South-East.
I hope to see you at a Mensa gathering of some sort, somewhere soon.
Regards,
Keith Brough
